Disclaimer and Terms of Use
Licence
ScanLM is distributed through Apple’s App Store and is licensed to you under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. The app is free of charge.
AI-generated content
Names, tags, summaries, translations and answers suggested by an AI model are generated automatically and can be incomplete or wrong, even when they sound certain. Always check them against the original document before you rely on them, for example for deadlines, amounts or reference numbers. They are not legal, tax, financial or medical advice.
Which model is used, and how it behaves, is decided by you: a model on your own computer or server, or Apple’s model on your device. You are responsible for complying with the licence and terms of any model or server you connect.
Text recognition
Text recognition works on the device and is usually reliable, but it can misread characters, especially in poor light, in small print or in handwriting. Check recognised text, and the searchable layer of exported PDFs, where accuracy matters.
Your documents and backups
Documents are stored on your device and, if you switch it on, copied to your own iCloud Drive. Deleting the app deletes the documents stored inside it. Please keep backups of important documents, for example through iCloud Drive or a device backup. Keep original paper documents where the law or a contract requires them.
Liability
The app is provided free of charge. Liability for damages is limited to intent and gross negligence. This limitation does not apply to injury to life, body or health, or where liability is mandatory by law, for example under the German Product Liability Act.
Trademarks
Apple, iPhone, iPad, iCloud and Apple Intelligence are trademarks of Apple Inc. Ollama, LM Studio, llama.cpp and Tailscale are names or trademarks of their respective owners. ScanLM is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.
